Building and Programming
We have been busy the past few weeks building our lunar landscape. It has taken a lot of time and effort to make the ideas we imagined into reality. We have also started programming our MINDSTORMS LEGO robot to perform the missions we developed. Click here to see more photos of us building and programming.
We're moving on to Phase Two!
147 teams from 22 countries registered for the Moonbots Challenge. Only 30 of those teams were chosen to move on to Phase II. Apollo 19 has been chosen as a Phase Two Finalist! We can't wait to create our lunar landscape, program our LEGO MINDSTORMS robot and demonstrate to the world how much fun science and technology can be.
Team Apollo 19
Welcome to the Team Apollo 19 web site! We are competing in the MoonBots 2012 Challenge, which is sponsored by Google Lunar X PRIZE and LEGO MINDSTORMS. Our team is comprised of four 6th graders and one 8th grader who attend a charter school together. Each of us has a fascination with science and technology, and this interest has inspired us to compete in the MoonBots 2012 Challenge. Read more about each of us here.
We're all having a blast learning about the moon, working with robots and building with LEGO bricks. Although our team has little experience with robotics, we are ready to prove that this group of novices can accomplish great things when we put our heads together.
