Outreach presentation at legoland
Team Apollo 19 was beyond excited when we learned that we would be able to perform our outreach demonstration at Legoland California! The school we attend had arranged a Legoland STEM field trip. We participated as one of the workshops the students could attend. We demonstrated our MoonBots Outreach presentation for the students TWICE! The only disappointment was that the presentation was outdoors. Our MINDSTORMS robot had difficulty completing some of its missions due to the shifting shadows which caused problems for its light sensors. MEEP only scored 75 out of 300 possible points, but overall, it was a great experience for our team and the students at our school!
MoonBots Missions
Here is a video playlist of our team robot, MEEP, successfully completing each of its seven missions. We've included these clips since it is sometimes hard to hear the audio on the Outreach video, and since MEEP wasn't successful on all of its missions. We want everyone to see what MEEP is capable of doing. In these video clips, MEEP successfully completes each of its 7 missions for a score of 300 out of 300 possible points. However, by starting MEEP off his base on 4 of the missions, we incurred 4 touch penalties. The final score is 260 points.
